Dr. Jonn Mumford (Swami Anandakapila Saraswati) wrote his first book "Psychosomatic Yoga" in 1961 while completing an intensive period of study in India. �His current books include "Ecstasy Through Tantra, "A Chakra and Kundalini Workbook", "Mind Magic Kit" and "Magic Tattwas" from Llewellyn.

Dr. Mumford is a direct disciple of Dr. Swami Gitananda and Paramhansa Swami Satyananda Saraswati, Bihar. �He was initiated by Swami Satyananda in 1973, at BSY Monghyr, Bihar State, India. �Dr. Mumford is respected across the world for his knowledge and scholarship. �A born teacher, Dr. Mumford frequently gives lecture on relaxation techniques, sexuality, Tantra and other aspects of human development and spirituality .

I have done enough yoga however to know this book is fantastic.
Buy it and read it. It will have spiritual benefits.

A wonderful resource!

Anyone who is seeking to understand IASs & IFRSs could not have hoped for a better book! It explains the standards in language which is easy to understand, it supplements the examples in the standards with real-world examples, it explains why a particular treatment is being recommended or is the preferred treatment.

The book's philosophy is that IASs & IFRSs are not documents or rules which need to be memorised or learned by rote; they are pronouncements which need to be understood! And the authors try their level best to explain the standards to the reader.

They do a great job of it! Real world examples are supplemented by relevant extracts from the financial statements of corporates around the world. And there are end-of-chapter discussion questions, graded exercises and detailed problems too.

I don't think that most students/practitioners could have asked for a better guide to IASs & IFRSs. This is perhaps the best book that is currently on the market. It needs much greater publicity!!!

The move to IFRSs is big business and there are many not-so-good texts out there. But the authors of this book are very clearly not motivated by monetary motives alone; they have a lot of knowledge and experience and they try their level best to impart that knowledge in a manner which is refreshingly easy to understand.

This book definitely stands head and shoulders above the also rans. Very highly recommended!

Buzzard challenges us to carefully review what we think the message of Jesus is. The reality is that many, if not most Christians do not read for themselves the words of The Messiah and his apostles about the Kingdom of Elohim. For most the Gospel is something learned in Sunday school and based more on church tradition and not solid biblical record.

Set aside any preconceptions, read this book and then read the Scriptures to see if what this book states is in harmony with what Jesus said or not. Then decide and act accordingly. Simple enough.

The author tells a story which I am sure all kids can relate to using a word or two per page. Great way to learn basic vocabulary in Tagalog, and the little boy is adorable. So glad to have this in our home!

This book, Ay Naku! together with Kumilos Tayo Kuya! and Kumilos Tayo Ate! were generously shared to us for book reviews by Ms. Reni Roxas, author and publisher at Tahanan Books. We personally chose it to introduced the Tagalog language basics to our 2 years old daughter.

Ay Naku talks about a realistic day story of a young boy named Botbot whose clumsiness frustrate the whole family and made them expressed the phrase Ay Naku! Ay Naku is a common Filipino expression used to convey disappointment, exasperation, or surprised dismay. -Reni Roxas.

Journeying on this book with our daughter, made her more exposed not just to the 65 simple Filipino verbs and everyday dialogue that is benefiting for her brain plasticity, and bilingual development but also to Filipino close familial culture.

The one-to-two word per page is very suitable for story telling to toddlers, and a good choice in dealing daily parenting issues with our child feelings and us, parents emotions.

I can relate in Botbot’s unintentional clumsiness. This is classic, I remembered when I was a kid, I accidentally broke the figurine filled with water placed at the top of our television. I truly can’t forget this incident, it damaged our television picture tube that made my brother insanely MAD! Haha

Also, Mr. Sergio Bumatay did a good job in presenting the story in an artistic-clear illustration in every pages. The only thing I observed with our toddler, each time we reached the folded page in the middle where Botbot was hiding beside the arm chair, our daughter freak-out and tried to skipped the page. All in all, we enjoyed it!

Just As Good

Last summer, when I graduated with an associate degree in land surveying, I have been trying to get a hold of the second edition, 1001 Solved Surveying Fundamentals Problems, 2nd ed., since that was all I had ever heard of, but I always found it no less that $400 dollars which is a rip-off. Finally I saw a link that said there was a third edition, this book, for less than a hundred. I was skeptical, but it is just as good. (Yes, I have used the second edition and know the comparison) So unless you are really into antique collecting, just get this book.

I'm studying for the FS and I've found this book to be very helpful for example problems, but your definitely going to need to get the Reference Manual as well because that explains in more detail on how to do problems.

Great help

Don't try to take the FS or PS test without studying this book. If you can do the problems in this, you can pass. It covers many categories of questions and is broken into sections (math, advanced math, hydrology, photogrammetry, vertical curves, boundary law, etc.), which lets you study the subjects where you consider yourself weakest. Great example questions and the answer key has good explanations with the answers. I took the FS in October 2012 and passed on the first try. I took the PS in April 2013 (still waiting for results) and I'm very sure I passed. This was the first time the PS was closed book, so I was one of the test dummies I guess.

Definitely worth the money. Wish it had cost a little less, that's the reason for 4 stars not 5. Still bought it and still worth it though.

"Houdini the caterpillar entertains a class of students with his amazing acts, including the vanishing leaf, the high-wire stick crawl, and his skin-shedding growth. With his flair for showmanship, he revels in his audience's appreciation. Great story. the artwork is a little drab...but everything else is about it is great.

Humorous picture book, perfect for teaching the life cycle of a butterfly

With a catchy title like "Houdini The Amazing Caterpillar", I could not resist picking this book up for my preschooler and we were both entertained by the fun story and adorable antics of Houdini, the precocious caterpillar. After hatching out of his egg, Houdini the caterpillar soon finds himself part of a class exhibit and hams it up for the students in the class. Their interest wanes after some time as Houdini faces rivalry from a turtle, a spider and a flower. The little caterpillar thinks upon what to do, and soon enough events take their course and Houdini finds himself the center of attention once more.

The illustrations by author/illustrator Janet Pedersen are vibrant and colorful, and Houdini's final metamorphosis is a sight to behold. There's also some information at the end of the book detailing the life cycle of a butterfly. This is perfect for preschoolers-third graders, and makes a wonderful read aloud picture book.

Houdini is an amazing class pet. He is a caterpillar that knows lots of tricks! After a while the kids in the class get tired of his tricks and start to turn their attention to other class pet. Houdini has to come up with a trick that will just wow them! Read to find out what that special trick is!

What I liked best about the book was the authors note at the end. It included facts about the life cycle of butterflies.
