Fun, but incomplete

A lot of fun. Quick reading, full of great art. But there are some puzzling things... and "Things" is one of them! No "THING" here! The other three members of the Fantastic Four are here, but of all of them The Thing has participated most in the Avengers... and he's the one missing.

And not to argue over "powers" like a school boy, but Hawkeye's fightng skills are listed at 7. That put's him in the Captain America, Wolverine, Shang Chi area. A better fighter than Iron Fist, Black Panther... and more. Really?

But again, a fun read. Good for new and old readers.

I purchased this book for kicks being a Marvel comics fan and was let down by the fact that they left out some fairly popular villains. How could you forget Modok??? Seriously?
Aside from that, the book is in full color and pretty cool if you are curious about the Avengers, especially with the Avengers movie coming in 2012.

Quality of book - well-made, good binding, nice thick pages and glossy hard cover. Can stand wear and tear of younger child

Characters - good consolidation of Avenger's universe... nice quick info on each character (easy enough for a kid to read)

Content: Warning - not appropriate for young children - publishers chose some fairly revealing shots for the female characters... too detailed on the female anatomy and the angles at which they are portrayed. Could have toned down the breast sizes about 4 cups and covered up the cleavage/skin some more and it would have been a great book for a kid. I don't want my son looking at pictures like that in our house.

Full of Wrath

By far the best book in the series so far. It started out very slow, especially after the surprising ending in Wasserman's 3rd book in the series, Pride. Of course it was not slow for long with ongoing scenes building up to a very surprising ending. The book deals with more issues than the other three. I love the realationship status between everyone. Kaia and her bizzare realationships with Powell and Reed. Harper, Beth, and Adams, weird connections. And Miranda and her on-going crush on Kane. In this book Harper is very much alone after Adam and beth found out what happened. With her only friends being Kane and Kaia. Kaia deals with her realationships with Reed the scruffball and Powell the French teacher. Miranda and Beth team up for this book to get their wrath out on (mainly) Harper and the rest of the gang who screwed them over.There is also a weird and unexpecting realationship betwen Kane and one of the girls(Very Surprising!)! Adam is just laying around after realizing his life has amounted to nothing but being alone.
I love how Wasserman keeps the reader on the edge of their seat, turning page after page to see what will happen next. Normally it is very hard to read about seven main characters and keep everybody straight, but Wasserman does a great job (again!) with connecting everyone and keeping everyone unique!
I love this book and I encourage everyone to buy this book and the rest of the series. These are some of my favorite books!
With such a twist at the end I cannot wait for the rest of the series!

I love these books. I can't believe there aren't more reviews for them. They are definite guilty pleasures, and I wasn't expecting to like them this much. They're miles ahead of Gossip Girl or any of those types of books, in terms of writing and character development. Also, each book is as good, if not better, than the last. I'm not saying they're great lit or anything, but they are very entertaining. And I really enjoy the relationships between the characters. After the ending of Wrath (not what I was expecting at all), I'm pretty much dying for the next installment.

Great Book With A Surprising Ending

I just finished reading the fourth book in the Seven Deadly Sins Series " Wrath" and I just loved it, it keeps you guessing and I really loved the potential of Reed/Kaia and what happens to Kaia and Mr.Powell too, the evil jerk that he is. Someone dies but we won't find out till the next book. I still can't stand Beth and Miranda the most useless characters in the series. Still love Harper and Kaia and KAne and Reed.

Nearly half a century later Fascism, and then forty years of Communism, again produced economic dislocation and social tumult in the lives of the people. This is best shown through descriptions of the fate of individual families in Budapest. Since 1990 the metropolis and its people have gone through a frenzied transition for which there was no template: authoritarian socialist economy to volatile capitalism and democracy. The story of the key players and groups in this transition make this tumultuous process particularly vivid. Today Budapest is a city whose role in Europe is still being crystallized. However, inventive entrepreneurs and creative artists are making the city a more and more vibrant home for its citizens and a favoured destination for a rapidly increasing flow of visitors.

I seldom write book reviews, both because I know readers' tastes differ and the request always brings me back to my school days and the need to write book reports, a requirement that took pleasure from many a book for me. In this case, however, I have to share my enjoyment with other readers. I am planning to visit Budapest at the end of April, so I wanted to learn more about the location. What a treat Joe Hajdu's writing is. I don't like history. I like geography even less. Hajdu makes the locations and the history live. Because he switches back and forth in time as he examines different aspects of the history, I find it easy to remember locations and events. His portrayal of the characters that have influenced Budapest's past and present connects them to happenings and the places in which they occurred. In many cases he uses a native word with a translation the first time, and thereafter he uses only the native word (example, ter=square {accent mark omitted}.) His exposition of Sz�ch�nyi's role in the development of Budapest is fairly detailed without being overwhelming. The book is informative and enjoyable. My visit to Budapest will be greatly enhanced by Joe Hajdu's contribution.

Disappointing. Lazy. Incomplete.

I was really looking forward to getting this book. Navigating the admission requirements for veterinary schools has been difficult. Unlike other professional programs, each veterinary school has different requirements. For some schools this just means additional courses must be taken. For others it may mean that specific courses must have specific prerequisites in order to satisfy the school's requirements or must be taken at a 4 year university as opposed to a community college. Sadly, this guide does not always notify the user of these vital subtleties.

For example, the guide only notes 3 things for the University of Illinois under "Prerequisites for Admission." These include 8 hours of biological science, 16 hours of chemical science, and 8 hours of physics. Head to U of I's website and you see that biochemistry is a required course and the only qualifying course is one that has organic chemistry as a prerequisite. A slew of profiles for other schools also fail to note this. Not all undergraduate universities (including mine) offer biochemistry with an organic prerequisite. Someone relying on this guide could be forced to retake biochemistry in order to fulfill this requirement because they simply did not know about it.

The book is also completely inconsistent with its break down of required courses. For example, the guide lists out each course requirement completely for some schools, noting that some must be taken at 4 year universities etc. while others simply direct you to the school's website! Really? What was the purpose of purchasing a book on veterinary school requirements if you are just going to direct me to the school's website?!

Again, some schools list some information on previous entering classes including average GPA, science GPA, and GRE scores while others list nothing. It is quite frustrating and unhelpful.

Sadly, this book has proven to be a huge disappointment. Until the authors step up their game or a competing publication comes around I strongly suggest sticking to the old way of doing things.

Lifesaver!

I'm finishing up my bachelors degree and had no idea about any schools for a DVM. Getting this book has been a lifesaver. It has every school in the country plus some and tells you exactly what is required for applying to those schools. It's a great book for people seriously looking into veterinary school. Glad I found it.
