Love. The simple truth of it all.

Rare is the author who can pen the lyrics of your hearts song and speak through to your soul. Mr. Amari Soul has done exactly that. He has captivated an audience of the masses by speaking of love and relationships. He tells women do not be afraid to love again. But don't settle. Its okay to wait. He lets the gentlemen know what really is on the mind of women and how to love us they way we need to be loved. This is hands down the best love and relationship book I have ever had the pleasure of reading! He even encourages his audience to write their feelings in the book! The difference between a good writer and a great one is if they genuinely believe what they write. Mr. Amari Soul is phenomenal! He writes from his soul, he speaks through is spirit. It is genuine to have someone share their inner most personal thoughts all because he wants to change the world one heart a time. The words he has written speaks an undisputed truth! I have recommended this book and will continue to do so to anyone that has been, is currently or will be in a relationship. Definitely a must read!

Putting Everything On the line

This is a book for everyone. I have to say if I had this book 13 years ago, it would have changed my outlook on slot of things. My book came 4 days earlier than what it was supposed too and once I got it I couldn't put it down. I recommend this book to everyone who has teenage children, woman and men. It will teach your sons what a woman expects and teaches your daughters what to except what not to except and why they except what they have been excepting! It was very nice to finally put into perspective what I had dealt with for so many years and put a voice and name to it, when I could never express exactly how and what I've been through! Everyone made a big deal outta thinking like a man act like a lady, if you ask me this book is BETTER than that! Because woman can never think like a man and act like a lady. What Mr. Soul does is teach us that it's okay to think like a lady and act like a lady and as a lady why we tolerate what we do and then he goes even further to have you question yourself why you did. Awesome book

Good coloring book but has some errors

Good coloring book with some errors. My 8 year old chemistry lover absolutely loves this book. He's halfway through the book but has found some errors or typos. The periodic tables they have in the book have elements 116 and 117 names incorrectly. 116 should be Livermorium and 117 should be ununseptium (although now, Dec. 2016, officially renamed to Tennessine) Also, Tetraphosphorus Trisulfide is listed as P5S3 but it's actually P4S3. The diagram I incorrect as well. Now, I don't know anything about chemistry myself. My son pointed these errors out and when I cross check, he seems to be correct. I'm interested to see if he finds more errors as he works through the book.

Great refresher of basics

Loving this book. I love to color and It has been over 20 years since I took chemistry and I don't remember much. I need a refresher so I can prep to take my test for my chemistry teaching credential. It is great for helping me remember the basic before I get into more complicated stoichiometry and such. I've been working my way through this combined with the self-teaching chemistry equations and problems book. After the holidays, I'm jumping into the AP chemistry test book and then the CSET practice test.

It has excellent diagrams that help for understanding why different atoms behave has they do.

NOT THE RIGHT COVER

I just reviewed this volume -- READER'S DIGEST CONDENSED BOOKS VOL. 1: 1957 but it doesn't have cardinals on the cover. The version I reviewed is pictured with a dust jacket, and also with its boards, which are a bull's eye/chevron type graphic. (However, the books listed in the product info are correct.)

Short version: I was not impressed. I thought most of the entries were the less-than-best although from good authors, and the abridgements ("condensations") generally didn't help.

If you're "kicking tires" with some of these old READER'S DIGEST CONDENSED BOOKS from the Fifties and Sixties, I think you'll find far better volumes. Here are some that I have already found and liked very much, along with a partial list of the books in them:

Waste of time and money

I bought the Kindle version. This book is terrible.
It starts out heavy on explanation about how the web works and such.
Once it gets to you actually writing things with node and express, it devolves more into a "Do this.... and this will happen...."
"...Should happen..." is more accurate. The examples in the book are terrible. Often they don't work. Your next recourse is to look for the examples online, which require a few click throughs to actually download. When you get them, you discover they are out of sync with the book text. If you're lucky, you can compare the two and figure out how to make things work.
I got to Hour 8 before I decided to try another resource, since I was spending more time frustrated trying to blindly troubleshoot the examples in the book, as opposed to getting a well-structured introduction and actually learning anything solid.

This book is awesome.

I have been through this book multiple times. I read it cover to cover on a plane / camping trip, then came home and went through it again actually doing the examples on a computer. Normally I find that intro books only skim the surface and I have a hard time actually using anything i learn in less trivial instances. This wasn't the case with this book. Some chapters give a very in depth overview, then the exercises at the end are very helpful.

Other reviewers have complained about typos in the source code. I noticed a few, but I type the code examples, instead of copy paste and generally can spot them. I didn't run into anything that didn't work, with the exception of the Twitter API chapter. But that's because of changes on the Twitter side, not the fault of this book.

FWIW: I'm an experienced JavaScript developer mainly using Backbone.js, but have had very little exposure to node.js.

I definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in node.

Good Read .. Instructions are for Outdated Version of Express

Overall this book makes for good reading.But then why 3 stars?
Well for starters, the code in this book is outdated. You will feel the drag on your self-paced learning when you hit the chapters on Express.
The code in these chapters are geared more towards V3.x of Express. And when you set up Expressand generate your first web application you will literally tear your hair out trying to figure out why things don't work as described.

I compared the code in the book vs. the files generated in my Express application vs. the Express API documentation and realized that I was reading a book written for V3.x of Express whilst the one installed on my Surface Pro Tablet is V4.x . There are subtle and more pronounced differences between the two versions and instructions in this book for most part will not work with your Express application. Therefore here are some starters on some of the differences. For more details refer to this link - http://expressjs.com/guide/migrating-4.html
1. Starting the Express Web Application is completely different.
2. Editing .JADE view pages works best with Visual Studio (free version)
3. When starting with a JADE page, make up your mind on whether you're going to use [space] or [Tab] for indentation
4. Once you decide what your preference is, stick to it and DO NOT switch between [space] or [Tab] to avoid unpredictable behavior of the JADE engine!
5 If a certain JADE tag does not work, the first test would be to add a DOT in front of it to see if it works
6 Example: As shown in this book the inline script keyword does not work with v4.x, but script. works (notice a dot after the keyword here)
7 The good part is that variables, FOR LOOPS, IF-ELSE constructs work as shown in the book and you should not have major issues

With these workarounds, I've been successfully able to complete working on Chapter 06 of this book. As of now, I'm yet to try the mixins.

A fascinating tale of low budget movie-making.

I'm Jason Peters, the actor who plays Karn-Dag, one of the Cavemen in Dinosaur Valley Girls. I give it a 5-star rating because it is a blow-by-blow education in the how-to of making a good movie with an extremely small amout of money. It includes the full original script with footnotes explaining all the changes that had to be made during filming, in order to keep within the budget of time and money. Also details conflicts and compromises, such as the actresses who decided NOT to be filmed topless after signing binding contracts (is there a pun here?) Director Glut writes very well. He is a prolific author who gives a humorous account of the creation of his first full-length motion picture, including how to raise production money from unusual sources, and how to make a low budget look MUCH bigger. Lots of color and B/W photos, and the girls are GORGEOUS!

The book is a simple how to in tenacity. Director and Author Glut ( also the author of the book The Empire Strikes Back ) show what a determined person can accomplish when they are driven to follow thier dreams.
